Musallas and Community Centres
At UCSF Islamic Centre, we believe that every community deserves dignified, accessible spaces for prayer. Through our Musalla Hosting Program, we strive to ensure that individuals and families always have a welcoming, culturally rooted place to gather, worship, and connect.
Empowering Communities with Compassion
In our community, food insecurity often goes unseen, but it affects too many people. By offering this service, we affirm that access to food is a basic human right. No one should have to choose between putting food on the table or paying the bills.
Why We Do This
Our musalla-seeding service is more than simply providing space; it is an act of worship. We view it as Sadaqah Jariyah—an ongoing source of benefit—for everyone who helps create and maintain these sacred prayer spaces. May Allah (SWT) reward all who contribute, volunteer, or participate, and multiply the goodness for them in this life and the next. Ameen.
Volunteer Registration Process
1. Complete the registration paperwork. Our friendly volunteers will welcome you and walk you through it.
2. After a confidential screening, you'll be issued a pass or card to receive food packages.
3. Receive your package in our distribution space. Package sizes vary depending on family size, but we always aim to provide healthy, culturally sensitive items. Feel free to stay afterward; refreshments are available, and we encourage you to socialize and build connections.
4. Once registered, families also become part of our extended support programs such as Qurbani meat distributions, Ramadan and Eid food initiatives, back-to-school aid, and a monthly community kitchen.
